Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, President-elect for the period 2024-2029, wants to execute the program of providing free nutritious food for school children efficiently without any leakage.
How this will be realized is thoroughly discussed in an exclusive interview by tvOne with Prabowo titled “Prabowo Subianto Speaks for Indonesia” aired on Wednesday, May 22nd.
Prabowo stated that the budget for the nutritious food program intended for students in schools has been calculated, and he is optimistic about being able to realize it.
“We have calculated that we are capable of it. The issue of organization is not necessarily what we are considering, whether it needs a special ministry or just a body, I think it’s not about the organization but the important thing is the scheme, the system, until it is realized for the children accurately,” explained Prabowo.
Prabowo said that he is making efforts to ensure that there will be no leakages in the implementation of the program in his government.
“The problem is, I have been talking about this for a long time, there is a phenomenon as a nation’s child that everyone is aware of that there are many leakages in our nation. Now, how do we create a scheme efficiently and well, with no leakages reaching our children,” said Prabowo.
In relation to the distribution of free milk to children throughout Indonesia, it will also be carried out according to the typology of each region.
Prabowo exemplified a region in Southwest Maluku, Pulau Moa, which often produces buffalo milk. Therefore, it is not too difficult to obtain milk that can be reached by children in the Moa area.
“And the issue of milk. We will see that it depends on the region, for example, Southwest Maluku, Pulau Moa, they have a lot of buffalo milk, there are buffaloes there, enough buffalo milk, there are also regions with many dairy goats, they can get goat’s milk, and we have to look at this,” explained Prabowo.
Meanwhile, in other regions where it is difficult to obtain a source of milk, the focus can be on distributing nutritious food such as fish and eggs evenly.
“If we look at the protein in milk, it turns out that the protein and minerals and substances in eggs are better than milk, experts told me and eggs can be cheaper than milk in certain areas, so we can concentrate on eggs, on fish, and so on,” Prabowo continued.
Therefore, Prabowo emphasized that the distribution of nutritious food and free milk to children in Indonesia will be flexible according to the typology of each region.
“So, we must adjust our plans to the different typologies and conditions of each region. We should not standardize one pattern in Indonesia, there are mountainous regions, coastal areas, islands. So, we must always be flexible, the important thing is that our children get nutritious food. I think that is our goal,” Prabowo concluded.
