Motorcycle racing in Spain saw an increase in temperature up to 20 degrees Celsius as the intermediate class riders took the track. Many riders took advantage of these conditions from the start of the session. Barry Baltus set the early benchmark time before being overtaken by Manuel Gonzalez. Jake Dixon also briefly held the top spot with a time of 1:40.351, only to be edged out by Aron Canet who was 0.1 seconds faster.
Canet maintained his lead halfway through practice, but he had to keep an eye on Senna Agius who flew into second place just 0.005 seconds behind. David Alonso followed closely in third position. The top three positions remained unchanged until the final 10 minutes of the session when Manuel Gonzalez and Celestino Vietti made their moves.
Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider set a time of 1:40.115, while Rossi’s protege was 0.109 seconds behind, which was then reduced to 0.067 seconds. Aron Canet slipped to third place, with Agius, Alonso, Dixon, Diogo Moreira, Deniz Oncu, Albert Arenas, and Daniel Holgado rounding out the top 10.
Deniz Oncu, the record holder for Moto2 at Jerez, faced some challenges with a slightly slippery bike. However, he managed to secure the top spot with a time of 1:39.564. Despite his efforts, Celestino Vietti could not improve his time after falling in Turn 13, finishing in 13th place behind Oncu and Gonzalez.
Aron Canet, Agius, Alonso, Dixon, Moreira, Arenas, and Holgado secured their positions in the top 10, while Mario Suryo Aji placed 26th out of 28 participants.
