Prabowo Urges Indonesian Children in Jeddah to Excel in Studies

President Prabowo’s official state visit to Saudi Arabia on July 1 was a heartwarming affair, as Indonesian elementary school children in Jeddah welcomed him with cheers and excitement. The children, holding Indonesian and Saudi Arabian flags, chanted “Welcome, Mr. President!” as they lined up neatly in the hotel lobby. President Prabowo, visibly touched by the children’s enthusiasm, greeted each child individually and happily posed for photographs. Among the children was Arsad Hanfana Al-Syarabi, who proudly introduced himself as his parents work at the Indonesian Embassy. The President encouraged the children to study well, receiving a resounding chorus of “Yes, Sir!” in response.

The interaction not only left a lasting impression on the children but also on the Indonesian community in attendance. Hanif Hasanuddin, a representative of Muhammadiyah’s Special Branch in Jeddah, expressed gratitude and hope after shaking hands with President Prabowo. Senior Indonesian officials, ministers, and diplomats also attended the reception, underscoring the significance of the President’s visit beyond diplomatic matters. President Prabowo’s visit to Saudi Arabia was a genuine moment of connection between a national leader and its citizens abroad, inspiring and uplifting the Indonesian children in the Holy Land. The event highlighted the strong bond between Indonesia and its diaspora, instilling hope and pride in the hearts of all present.
