President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the crucial need for Indonesia to bolster its defense capabilities amidst a volatile global landscape. Speaking at the Operational Troop Review and Military Honors Ceremony at Suparlan Field, Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, Prabowo urged young soldiers to honor the nation’s history, especially the struggles faced during colonial oppression. He emphasized the significance of a strong military in securing freedom and sovereignty, warning of external threats that aim to hinder Indonesia’s progress.
In a world filled with uncertainties and conflicts, Prabowo stressed the importance of fortifying national defense to protect the country’s territory, sovereignty, and resources. Despite Indonesia’s policy of non-alignment with geopolitical blocs, he reiterated the necessity for a robust defense mechanism. During the ceremony, Prabowo appointed new military commanders and conferred honors to outstanding individuals for their dedication and integrity.
The event also marked the establishment of various new TNI units, including Army Regional Commands, Naval Regional Commands, Air Force Regional Commands, and Territorial Development Battalions. The troop review showcased the strength of Indonesia’s military forces with over 27,000 personnel and numerous defense assets on display. Prabowo’s message emphasized the need for a strong defense force to navigate the challenges of an unpredictable world, underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to safeguarding its nation’s interests.
