Ester Nenggokaka, a Southwest Sumba resident in East Nusa Tenggara, leads a humble life focused on providing for her two children. Despite various challenges, Ester remains resilient and dedicated to her family. One of her children, Lorensius Aganta, was significantly underweight at 7 kilograms before benefiting from the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) program. Ester is grateful for this initiative as it has positively impacted her son’s health, evident in the slight but significant increase in his weight. She eagerly awaits the next health check to monitor his progress, receiving a variety of nutritious foods every morning through the MBG program. In addition to expressing gratitude for the support received, Ester looks towards a brighter future, hoping for further assistance to improve their living conditions, even amidst challenges like the lack of access to electricity and land ownership. The meals provided not only nourish her child but also instill a sense of optimism for the days ahead.
