Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force recently carried out a successful humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine. This mission, which took place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan, at 10:37 a.m. local time. They conducted an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza and safely returned to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.
Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, described the mission as proceeding smoothly without significant obstacles. The aid packages delivered included essential supplies such as staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally ordered the mission, underscoring Indonesia’s dedication to international humanitarian solidarity.
The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was hailed as a moment of national pride, showcasing the country’s active role on the global stage and its contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto regarded this achievement as a historic milestone and a special gift on Indonesia’s Independence Day.
